Sustainability in Public Food Procurement
Together with the Czech Ministry of Regional Development, our project partner ‘Skutečně zdravá škola’ (English: The Really Healthy School Initiative) is organising an international conference to be held in Prague in the framework of the SchoolFood4Change project.
The event will take place on October 8, 2024, at the historic Monastery of the Minorites of St. Jakub in Prague, where experts from across Europe will gather to discuss sustainable practices in public food procurement.
Experts from politics, practice, academia and industry have been invited to contribute to the success of the conference.
The guests include the Czech Deputy Prime Minister of Digitization and Minister of Regional Development, as well as representatives of our SchoolFood4Change partner cities such as Copenhagen, Milan, Dordogne and Vienna.
The conference will explore how responsible food procurement can promote sustainable food systems while fostering regional development. Attendees will also learn about upcoming harmonized standards for food purchases and how these can impact regional development, public health, and organic farming
With a packed agenda covering organic food, plant vs. meat production, and practical examples from universities and hospitals, this event is a great opportunity for all people interested or involved in food procurement for public services.
The International Conference provides a great opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field of public procurement and to exchange with experts and political representatives.
