An EU school scheme fit for the future – conference

The conference will provide the opportunity for the Commission to present preliminary findings from the EU school scheme evaluation, public consultations and gather views and suggestions on preliminary proposals under the impact assessment. Public and private stakeholders involved in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the current EU school scheme will be participating in this event. These include national and local authorities, schools, businesses, farms and guests from the academic and scientific community.

There will be 3 sessions dealing respectively with the societal, economic and environmental aspects of sustainability. For each session, high-level panel discussions will follow keynote speeches and focus on the EU school scheme challenges in the context of the review.

SchoolFood4Change connection: Sofie Verhoeven from the City of Ghent in Belgium will be participating in the conference, also mentioning the project SchoolFood4Change and its objectives connected to sustainable public food procurement and food education.
