11th African Day of School Feeding

The 11th Africa Day of School Feeding (ADSF) is a continental gathering led by the African Union, bringing together governments, private sector actors, civil society organisations, academia and development partners from across Africa to advance the cause of school meal programmes.

Now in its eleventh year since its inception in 2016, the ADSF serves as a high-level platform to reinforce political will, showcase progress, and drive investment in home-grown school feeding initiatives that source food locally, strengthen food systems, support smallholder farmers and improve community livelihoods.

This year’s event aligns with the AU’s 2026 theme — “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063” — placing a spotlight on the critical link between nutrition, clean water and hygiene in schools.
